Formerly known as the Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund

Myf’s Melanoma Army!

Myf’s Melanoma Army is for all touched by melanoma, whether patients, family or friends

When Myfanwy died from melanoma in 1999, we set up the Melanoma Fund to try to prevent others suffering from this terrible form of skin cancer

She was so loved that people all round East Grinstead flocked to support us, raise awareness, and fund our work

A lady in Burgess Hill held a cream tea party, Dunnings Indoor Bowls Club organised a tournament, Leeds United FC came on board in memory of coach Bruce Craven, Angie Newman had a plant stall at a Car Boot Sale, we collected outside Haskins and Sainsburys…. and money flowed in!

It was a very personal charity!

Although we are now a major national charity, we need the personal touch to augment and bring life to our campaigns and to encourage friends to spread awareness

We’ve set up Myf’s Melanoma Army so that we can talk, tell each other what we’re doing, and be part of our personal crusade

Use our imagination: for instance, baking Sun Hat Cup Cakes for school fetes, selling plants at the garden gate, a sponsored litter pick…

But let’s work together and tell people what YOU are doing to raise awareness, and WHY
